About the Role:
We are seeking a practical, experienced Facilities & Maintenance Lead to take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our training centres and office locations.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced facilities professional with a proven track record in building maintenance. You will lead and coordinate maintenance activity across multiple occupied sites, working closely with in-house technicians and external contractors to ensure our buildings are safe, compliant, well maintained and fully operational.
The role will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, is confident working on site, and can balance reactive maintenance with planned preventative maintenance across a multi-site estate.

Location: London, with regular travel to centres across London, Essex and the Midlands
Key Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day facilities maintenance and repair activities across all sites, maintaining a strong hands-on presence
- Work closely with Centre Technicians to prioritise, schedule and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Carry out practical, first-line maintenance tasks within competence, escalating specialist works where required
- Coordinate and manage external contractors for specialist works, servicing and statutory inspections
- Manage the facilities service desk, ensuring issues are logged, tracked and resolved within agreed timescales
- Develop, implement and maintain planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety and building safety requirements, including fire safety, emergency lighting and statutory testing
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance works, inspections, certifications and servicing documentation
- Respond to urgent or reactive maintenance issues as required
- Support site logistics, including room setups and the movement of equipment and furniture
- Coordinate materials deliveries and liaise with suppliers
- Monitor quality of works completed and ensure standards are met before sign-off
Qualification and Training Required
Essential
- Proven experience in facilities management, building maintenance, estates or property services within occupied buildings or multi-site environments
- A recognised qualification in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance or a relevant trade (e.g. Level 3–5 Facilities Management, ONC/HNC/HND in Building Services, or a recognised trade qualification supported by facilities maintenance experience)
- Good working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrics, heating and fire safety
- Practical maintenance skills suitable for a hands-on facilities role
- Strong problem-solving ability with a solutions-focused, proactive approach
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple maintenance issues across different locations
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly between sites
Additional Requirement
- A full UK driving licence is essential (a company van will be provided for travel between centres and transporting equipment or materials).
Desirable
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Experience working in a multi-site or education/training environment
- Experience coordinating contractors and managing maintenance records and compliance documentation
