Overview:
This Qual Safe-accredited Level 3 First Aid at Work course is ideal for individuals responsible for providing first aid in the workplace, community organisations, or voluntary groups. With no entry requirements, this practical, classroom-based course covers essential skills including CPR, choking management, treating shock, burns, bleeds, and injuries to bones, muscles and joints. You’ll also learn how to handle incidents involving chest injuries, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis, and major illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes and asthma attacks. The course includes 7 practical assessments and 2 theory assessments, ensuring you’re fully prepared to assist in real emergency situations. Delivered in small groups of up to 12 learners, this hands-on course also covers how to conduct a full head-to-toe casualty survey. On successful completion, you’ll receive a Qual Safe Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years. Ideal for anyone looking for comprehensive, workplace-ready first aid training.
Course Content:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
- Be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
- Identify when to and be able to administer CPR.
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.
- How to conduct a head-to-toe survey.
- Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
- Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty with chest injuries.
- Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty with burns.
- Understand how to provide first aid to a casualty with eye injuries.
- Understand how to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected poisoning.
- Understand how to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.
- Understand how to recognise suspected major illnesses, including heart attack, stroke and asthma attacks, and be able to administer first aid to a casualty.
Teaching and Assessment
This course is classroom based and includes 7x practical assessments and 2x paper-based theory assessments.
Certification
Upon completion of the course, you will receive an e-certificate which will remain valid for 3 years.
