Who is the SMSTS Refresher suitable for?
The SMSTS refresher course is for candidates who have attended the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course, since 1st January 2001 and whose SMSTS card / certificate is due to expire.
The 2-day course must be attended every 5 years in order to remain certified. Designed to update learners on any relevant developments and changes across health and safety requirements and legislation.

The SMSTS refresher includes:
• Health and Safety and Legislation
• Accident statistics, costs, causes, management responsibilities/methods in prevention
• HSE's current focus on construction activities
• Safety management systems, policies, plans and performance measuring
• Management of Contractors

The SMSTS Refresher is a 2 day course.

The cost of the course is typically £290.00 + vat.
Teaching and Assessment
The SMSTS refresher course has a high proportion of discussions, best practice sharing, syndicate exercises and case studies supplemented with video and classroom based tutorials.
Candidates will be continuously assessed during the SMSTS refresher course in preparation for the final multiple choice examination.
Certification
On successful completion of the course the candidate would be awarded the Site Management Safety Training Scheme Certificate.
