Build Your Future in Dry Lining

Whether you're starting your career in construction or looking to upskill your workforce, our Interior Systems Installer (Dry Lining) Apprenticeship offers comprehensive training in installing and maintaining dry lining systems—essential for creating high-quality internal structures.

For Learners:

  • Gain hands-on experience in partition walls, MF ceilings, grid ceilings, shaft walls, Metsec installation, rainscreen cladding, and passive fire protection.
  • Achieve industry-recognized qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 in Interior Systems, PASMA, and CSCS cards.
  • Benefit from structured learning with three-day training sessions each month, allowing you to apply skills directly on-site.

For Employers:

  • Develop a skilled workforce equipped with the latest techniques in dry lining and interior systems.
  • Access pre-screened candidates through our 8-week Interior Systems Bootcamps, which include classroom and practical training, CSCS Green Card, and two-week trial placements.
  • Collaborate with our tutors to align training with your project's specific needs, ensuring immediate and long-term benefits.

Structured Learning for Real Results

Our apprenticeship blends real-world experience with targeted learning through a structured block release format. Apprentices attend focused training sessions for three days each month, immersing themselves in practical skills while working on diverse projects.

The tutor liaises regularly with employers throughout the programme to ensure that the training aligns with current on-site needs and opportunities. This integration translates into immediate benefits for both the learner and the business as apprentices contribute more effectively to projects on-site.

By combining in-depth training with hands-on experience, apprentices are well-prepared for their role, driving both immediate impact and long-term success.

What we expect from Employers

To ensure the success of the Dry Lining Apprenticeship, employers are expected to provide a supportive environment that fosters learning and development.

For example, apprentices should be given opportunities to work on different projects that involve installing and maintaining various dry lining systems, such as partition walls and suspended ceilings.

Additionally, employers should facilitate regular feedback sessions and provide access to necessary tools and resources. By supporting apprentices with diverse and relevant experiences, you help them gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to your team.

Our team are always available to guide and support employers, managers and learners throughout the apprenticeship.

Additional Qualifications and Benefits

Additional Qualifications: In addition to their apprenticeship, learners earn a Level 2 NVQ in Interior Systems and receive PASMA and CSCS cards, all included at no extra cost. Eligible learners will also have the opportunity to complete a SSSTS qualification.

Impact on productivity and quality: Our focused block release training enhances apprentices’ skills through practical, real-world experience, making them more effective and productive on-site. Our state-of-the-art facilities and expert tutors guarantee high-quality, industry-relevant training.

Recruitment support and pre-apprenticeship programmes: Apprenticeships are a vital pathway to the industry, and are key to CSR and S106 strategies. But we know finding quality apprentices can be a barrier for many employers. That's why we offer support with recruiting pre-screened candidates through our pre-apprenticeship programmes and FIS endorsed bootcamps - providing intensive training to prepare learners for work, and allowing employers to trial potential apprentices on site and assess their fit before full enrolment.

It is refreshing to be working so closely with The Skills Centre to rethink the way that we put it all together and deliver a programme that can work for everyone. Flexible, practical and quality provision, tailored to employer need in an environment that supports the individuals is what this is all about. The next five years is going to see major reform of the apprenticeship model and this is a fabulous way to kick that off in the finishes and interiors sector. Ian McIlwee, CEO, FIS
