The first stage in health and safety training, the SSSTS course is a must for all site supervisors. Designed to build a firm and practical understanding of construction workplace safety, this course covers everything from occupational health to site-specific issues.
Who is the SSSTS suitable for?
The Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a CITB accredited course for Site Supervisors and first-line managers with at least 1 years experience.

Cost of the SSSTS
The cost of the course is typically £250.00 + vat.
Course Content
Candidates will learn about their legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
The SSSTS course content includes:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Effective toolbox talks
- Supervision of occupational health
- Behavioural safety
- And other specific site issues that challenge supervisors on a daily basis
The course includes publications, registration and certification.
How long is the course?
The SSSTS is a 2 day course.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching: The SSSTS Course is a very interactive course, the tutor teaches through classroom discussions, case studies, teamwork and individual/group presentations. There is also some work that may need to be completed outside of the training.
Assessment: The candidates will be assessed throughout and complete a multiple choice test at the end of the course.
Certification
The candidate will achieve a CITB renewable 5-year Site Safety Plus certificate.
The certificate is valid for 5 years.
Mandatory Entry Requirements
The candidate must be able to read, write and understand English at a good level.
If the candidate needs to re-sit the test, they must do this within 90 days of the original course date (at an additional cost)
The candidate must provide a valid ID on the first day of the course, a copy of passport or driving licence will be sufficient.
