What is a Level 6 or Level 7 NVQ?

A Level 6 or Level 7 NVQ is a work-based qualification for experienced construction managers and senior managers. Rather than classroom teaching, it's assessed through a portfolio of evidence built from your real, on-the-job work, by an assessor who understands the role because they've done it themselves. If you're already managing contracts, running a site, or leading on health and safety, these qualifications formally recognise that experience — not teach it to you from scratch.

Level 6 NVQs cover roles like Construction Contracting Operations Management, Occupational Health & Safety Practice, and Construction Site Management — for those already working at a managerial or supervisory level.

Level 7 NVQ is our top tier: the Diploma in Construction Senior Management, equivalent in academic value to a master's degree, for experienced managers looking to progress further.

Both levels are a recognised route to your CSCS Black Card.
