The Skills Centre Essex

The Skills Centre in Essex is a partnership with Measom Dry Lining. Based in West Horndon it provides entry-level training for the construction sector with a special focus on Interior Systems and Dry Lining.

This dedicated space delivers training programmes designed and developed with the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) group. FIS was created to draw the finishes and interiors supply chain together to improve safety and quality, minimise risk, enhance productivity and help embrace innovation.   

Their membership comprises fit-out and specialist contractors, manufacturers and suppliers. Their expertise has helped to create our specialist Bootcamp and Dry Lining Apprenticeships to provide a route into Finishes and Interiors jobs in Essex.

Pre-employment Programme

A free 4-week introduction to construction, covering a variety of topics to provide an overview of the industry and key health and safety requirements for safe working on site.

Interior/Exterior Insulation and Dry Lining

A free, entry-level programme providing a strong foundation for a career in Interior Systems. Developed with industry-leading employers and the FIS group, the programme covers general health and safety required on site, as well as specialist practical training and a 2-week work-placement with one of our partner employers.

Dry Lining Apprenticeship

Launching in 2025 this new apprenticeship has been developed by The Skills Centre with industry experts and employers to help build a skilled workforce to meet demand in Essex and London. More information will be avaialble soon. Register your interest here.
